Buying
Do I have to buy to keep using Nod?
No. The evaluation is free, every feature, no time limit. Buying removes the purchase reminder and keeps updates coming.
Does the AI feature cost extra?
Not from Nod. Ask-about-code is optional and bring-your-own-key: the app talks to your provider directly, and whatever that costs is between you and them. Nothing is resold on top of the license.
Who takes my card?
Polar, the merchant of record. Your payment details never reach Nod, and the receipt comes from Polar.
Buying for a team?
Email me and I will sort out invoicing.
I review on GitLab. Can I buy?
Yes. Checkout signs in with GitHub for now, so email me and I will set your license up by hand until GitLab checkout lands.
At work
Can we use Nod at work?
Yes. The license permits internal use at any company, commercial or not. What it forbids is building a competing product from the source.
Is the license per person or per machine?
Per person. Your GitHub account is the license, and Nod activates on any machine you sign in on. Machines are not counted.
Is the source available?
Yes, under the Functional Source License, and each version becomes Apache 2.0 two years after its release.
Trust
Does Nod see my code?
No. The app talks to GitHub or GitLab directly from your machine and your token never leaves it. Buying asks for read:user only, to know who you are.
